Shared Agreements
Our yoga space is grounded in respect, care, & collective well-being. These guidelines help create a safer, more inclusive environment for all participants.
1. Honor All Identities. We respect & affirm all genders, sexualities, bodies, races, abilities, ages & lived experiences. Misgendering, discrimination, or derogatory language is not acceptable.
2. Practice Consent & Choice. You are always in control of your body & participation. Modifications, rest, & opting out are welcome & encouraged. Hands-on assists are only offered with explicit consent.
3. Move At Your Own Pace. There is no “right” way to do a pose. We prioritize listening to our bodies over performance, comparison, or pushing through pain.
4. Maintain A Non-Judgmental Space. We practice releasing judgement-toward ourselves & others. This includes comments about bodies, flexibility, strength, or appearance.
5. Respect Confidentiality. What is shared is this space-verbally, emotionally, or energetically-stays here. Please do not share others’ personal experiences outside the group without consent.
6. Use Inclusive Language. We aim to use language that is gender-affirming, body-neutral, & accessible. Corrections are welcome & received with humility & care.
7. Center Trauma-Informed Community Care. We show up with awareness that many participants may carry trauma or stress. Kindness, patience, & mutual respect are essential.
8. Avoid Advice-Giving Or Fixing. This is not therapy or a coaching space. Please refrain from offering unsolicited advice, interpretations, or feedback to others. Facilitators are glad to provide appropriate therapy referrals If needed.
9.Be Mindful Of Shared Space. Arrive on time when possible, silence devices, & help maintain a calm, respectful environment before, during, & after class.
10. Support Accessibility. We welcome & normalize the use of props, mobility aids, seated or floor-based practices, & varied expressions of participation.
11. Honor Boundaries. Physical, emotional, & conversational boundaries are respected at all times. “No” is complete & does not require an explanation.
12. Address Harm With Accountability. If Harm occurs, we commit to addressing it with care, openness, & accountability rather than defensiveness or dismissal.
13. Respect The Facilitators Role. The facilitator is responsible for holding the container of the space. We respect the efforts of facilitators & teachers & also acknowledge we’re all human here. Please follow guidance related to safety, pacing & group care.
14. Collective Liberation & Responsibility. We understand that our individual presence affects the whole group. We share responsibility for creating a space rooted in dignity, equity, & liberation.
